The Manager Investigations at MMBL leads and supports investigations into fraud, misconduct, and regulatory violations to protect the bank’s operations, employees, and customers. The role includes detecting irregular activities, conducting fraud risk assessments, handling complex cases, and supervising junior investigators. It requires strong investigative and forensic skills, along with coordination with Business, HR, Legal, Compliance, and external stakeholders. The Manager ensures timely closure of cases, prepares detailed reports, and oversees the process from preliminary assessment to corrective measures, in line with directives from the Head of Investigations.

What Manager Investigations – MMBL Does?
  • Lead investigations into suspected fraud, misconduct, or policy violations.
  • Plan and execute investigative strategies, including evidence collection, financial analysis, interviews, and background checks.
  • Prepare detailed investigation reports and executive summaries for the Head of Investigations, senior management, and regulators.
  • Supervise and mentor Assistant Managers/junior investigators, ensuring quality and consistency of work.
  • Maintain case records, evidence, and documentation in the case management system with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions and track their implementation across departments.
  • Collaborate with Business, HR, Legal, Compliance, and Audit teams to address disciplinary and legal aspects of cases.
  • Support the Head of Investigations in sensitive or high-profile cases and regulatory interactions.
  • Use forensic tools, data analytics, and digital evidence techniques to detect anomalies and support investigations.
  • Contribute to fraud prevention training, awareness programs, and policy improvements.
  • Stay updated on emerging fraud risks, regulatory requirements, and best practices in investigations.
  • Undertake tasks assigned by the Head of Investigations, MMBL, or VEON Group Investigators.
  • Manage case management portals and ensure timely closure of tagged cases.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree minimum.
  • 8–10 years in banking/financial services, audit, compliance, or law enforcement.
  • 4–5 years direct investigation experience; independent leadership preferred.
  • Professional certification (CFE, CAMS, CIA, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations, compliance, and fraud risk management.

  • Proficiency in forensic tools, data analytics, and case systems.
