Job summary

NorthBay Solutions LLC is seeking a skilled Linux Administrator to manage and optimize Linux-based infrastructure. The role emphasizes hands-on Linux installation, security hardening, automation, and performance monitoring to ensure reliable, secure systems.

The successful candidate will maintain availability, reliability, and performance of Linux servers and related infrastructure, collaborating with Network, Security, DevOps, and Application teams. On-call support may be required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/IT or related field.
Industry-standard Linux security hardening and vulnerability remediation knowledge.
Experience with automation tools and scripting for system administration.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux servers and operating systems.
Perform provisioning, patching, upgrades, and configuration management.
Implement security hardening per policies and best practices.
Manage users, groups, permissions, and SSH access.
Monitor health, availability, resources, and performance.
Automate routine tasks using Bash, Shell, Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
Maintain backups, recovery, and DR procedures.
Document configurations and procedures.
Collaborate with Network, Security, DevOps, and App teams.
Participate in incident management and root cause analysis.
