Job summary

Descon in Lahore, Pakistan, seeks a Specialist Reporting to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and compliance. You will support month-end close, maintain GL integrity, and provide insights through robust financial analysis.

The ideal candidate is a CA Finalist with hands-on experience in reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance, and demonstrates strong Excel and SAP proficiency. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and independent work ethic.

Qualifications

• CA Finalist with hands-on exposure to financial reporting, audits and compliance.
• Experience completing articles in a reputable firm.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly closing packs and financial statements in a timely and accurate manner.
• Process GL entries and accruals with effective controls.
• Liaise with divisions and sub-ledger teams to close reporting packs on time.
• Prepare aging analyses and conduct variance analyses of actuals vs budget.
• Perform intercompany reconciliations and resolve variances.
• Test and validate the accuracy of financial dashboards and reports.
• Enforce compliance with financial reporting policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with auditors and regulatory bodies as required.
• Identify reporting and compliance risks and support mitigation strategies.

The Specialist Reporting is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. The role supports month-end and year end close processes, maintains general ledger integrity, performs financial analysis, and ensures adherence to reporting standards and internal controls. The position works closely with business divisions, subledgers, auditors, and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality financial information and insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly closing packs and financial statements in a timely and accurate manner
• Process general ledger entries and accruals, and ensure effective GL monitoring and control
• Liaise with business divisions and sub-ledger teams to ensure timely closure of financial reporting packs
• Prepare aging analyses and conduct variance analysis of actual results versus budget
• Perform intercompany reconciliations and ensure resolution of variances
• Test and validate the accuracy of financial dashboards and reports
• Enforce compliance with financial reporting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external auditors, and regulatory bodies as required
• Identify potential reporting and compliance risks and support development of mitigation strategies
• Perform other tasks and assignments as directed from time to time
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial analysis skills
• Proficiency in financial reporting tools and systems, including Excel and SAP
• Sound understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance best practices
• Ability to conduct trend analysis, variance analysis, and exception analysis to identify unusual movements

Education & Experiene

• Education: CA Finalist (Finance)
• Experience: Articles completed from a reputable firm, with hands-on exposure to financial reporting, audits, and compliance. Prior industry experience will be an added advantage.
