Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking a Chassis Technician (Onsite) Level III for their mining service unit in Limpopo, South Africa. The role focuses on high horsepower engine diagnostics, repairs and preventative maintenance across on-site engine systems.

You will mentor junior technicians, coordinate with Cummins Support and Engineering, and ensure adherence to Cummins safety and quality standards on all service activities.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Cummins high horsepower engine experience in mining or heavy industrials.
• Proven ability to interpret fault codes and ECM data.
• Experience in structured fault-finding and root cause analysis.
• Cummins technical training and platform specialization.
• Safety, compliance and governance awareness.

Responsibilities

• Independently deliver troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of high horsepower engine products.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues using Cummins procedures and standards.
• Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and failures.
• Coach and mentor junior technicians and apprentices.
• Review repair plans, parts lists and work approaches for accuracy.
• Ensure complete service and repair documentation is accurate and timely.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment.
