Ahya Technologies L.L.C. is seeking a hands-on Lead, AI & DS to own the design and delivery of Ahya’s AI systems spanning generative AI, agents, ML and LLMs across AhyaAI, AhyaOS, Tawazun and AhyaAPI.

You will translate climate intelligence and product priorities into an AI roadmap, mentor a small team, and set engineering standards while delivering scalable, enterprise-grade AI capabilities for sustainability and climate-tech.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Software Engineering or related field; advanced degree a plus.
• 7+ years in AI, ML, or data science with roadmap ownership or mentoring.
• Strong Python skills and experience with production software and APIs at scale.
• Deep hands-on with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, AI agents, and tool-calling frameworks.
• Fluency with LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn; MCP for tool integration.

Responsabilidades

• Shape the AI roadmap with the Director, AI & DS, and own the architecture and execution of Ahya’s AI systems, from semantic search to autonomous agents.
• Defend build, buy and model choices across providers.
• Set standards for model evaluation, prompt and code review, and AI system design.
• Mentor a team of 2–5 engineers and unblock hardest problems.
• Hands-on development of critical components like agent orchestration, retrieval and evaluation.
• Own LLM-based applications and agentic workflows; direct RAG systems, vector DBs, embeddings, and retrieval pipelines.
• Lead ML/DS efforts: prediction, classification, anomaly detection, forecasting, optimization, and recommendations.

Join Ahya as a Lead, AI & DS and support the region’s net-zero transition.

We are seeking a hands-on Lead, AI & Data Science to own the technical design and delivery of Ahya’s AI systems, spanning generative AI, agentic AI, machine learning and LLMs, across AhyaAI, AhyaOS, Tawazun and AhyaAPI.

The role works with the Director, AI & DS to translate climate intelligence and product priorities into a coherent AI and data science roadmap, making the build, buy and model selection decisions other engineers execute against, and raising the technical bar across the team through direct mentorship and technical review.

What You’ll Do

Technical Leadership & Architecture

• Shape the AI roadmap with the Director, AI & DS, and own the architecture and technical execution of Ahya’s AI systems, from semantic search and retrieval to autonomous AI agents.
• Make and defend build, buy and model selection decisions across frontier and open-source providers.
• Set technical standards for model evaluation, prompt and code review, and AI system design, and hold the team to them.
• Lead and mentor a team of 2–5 engineers across the AI function, reviewing their technical approach and unblocking their hardest problems.
• Stay hands-on: personally build and ship critical-path components such as agent orchestration, retrieval, and evaluation.

Generative AI & Agentic Systems

• Own LLM-based applications and agentic workflows that plan, reason, use tools, manage memory, and carry out multi-step tasks.
• Own retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems: vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval pipelines.
• Direct the implementation of copilots, conversational assistants, semantic search, and automation across Ahya products.

Machine Learning, Data Science & Predictive Analytics

• Set the technical approach for prediction, classification, anomaly detection, forecasting, optimization, and recommendation models across the team.
• Own feature engineering and evaluation frameworks used across AI initiatives.
• Lead statistical analysis, experimentation, and exploratory data work that turns client and operational data into decision-ready insight.
• Define the metrics, baselines, and validation methods used to prove model and product impact.
• Work directly with Climate Science and Product to turn domain needs into explainable, auditable ML solutions fit for enterprise sustainability and climate-tech.
• Own scalable training, inference, and monitoring pipelines.
• Direct how structured and unstructured data, including documents, invoices, utility bills, images, PDFs, and operational records, feeds AI systems.
• Own inference cost, latency, reliability, and scale trade-offs, and the cloud-native deployment approach.
• Own production deployment and maintenance of models, including monitoring, observability, evaluation, and QA.
• Set model and prompt versioning, experiment tracking, and deployment pipeline standards.
• Report model performance, latency, and operating costs to the Director, AI & DS.
• Implement the AI governance, testing, security, and responsible deployment practices agreed with the Director, AI & DS.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Software Engineering or a related field; advanced degree a plus.
• 7+ years of experience in AI, ML, or data science, including experience owning a technical roadmap or leading and mentoring other engineers.
• Strong Python skills and a track record of building production software and APIs at scale.
• Deep, hands‑on expertise with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, AI agents, and tool-calling frameworks.
• Fluency with frameworks and libraries such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn, and with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) for tool integration.
• Experience with LLM evaluation and observability tooling such as Ragas, LangSmith, or promptfoo, and with inference serving such as vLLM or TGI.
• Strong grounding in core ML concepts: supervised and unsupervised learning, feature engineering, evaluation, forecasting, anomaly detection, and optimization.
• Strong grounding in statistics, experiment design, and exploratory data analysis, with fluent SQL and pandas.
• Experience with vector databases, semantic search, embeddings, and unstructured data.
• Hands‑on experience with document intelligence: OCR, layout parsing, and structured extraction from invoices, utility bills, PDFs, and images.
• Fluency with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including managed model platforms such as Amazon Bedrock or Azure OpenAI, plus Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong software engineering practices: version control, testing, CI/CD, and scalable design.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, comfortable owning decisions and defending them to leadership in a fast‑paced startup.
• Experience building AI‑powered products, copilots, automation, or enterprise AI applications is a plus; background in climate tech, sustainability, fintech, SaaS, or enterprise software is a plus, though not required.
• Familiarity with the GHG Protocol, emission factors, or carbon accounting data is a plus.
