Job summary

Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) invites applications for a role in its Energy & Power Systems Lab to assist the director with project work, equipment maintenance, and lab operations. The incumbent will help design labs, conduct sessions, manage inventory, and support lab setup and safety compliance.

Fresh graduates or candidates awaiting final year results are encouraged to apply; a BS/MS in Electrical Engineering is required.

Qualifications

• Strong interest and some lab demonstration experience in Power System Protection, Electrical Machines, and Power System Analysis areas.
• Ability to work in a team and get along well with faculty, staff, and students.

Responsibilities

• Design, conduct, and assess labs in Power System Protection, Electrical Machines, and Power System Analysis areas.
• Deliver lab content and conduct labs for assigned courses in relevant areas.
• Upkeep, procurement, design, and development of lab equipment/modules as required.
• Operation, maintenance, and inventory management of lab equipment and consumables.
• Help in the lab setup, including installation and calibration/quality checks of new equipment.
• Prepare technical specifications including selection and sizing of lab equipment for setup/upgrades.
• Ensure safety protocols are understood and followed in the lab.
• Prepare and grade laboratory exams.
• Other duties assigned by department/supervisor.

Job description

To facilitate the Energy & Power Systems Lab director in conducting projects, maintaining equipment, operating lab machines, and providing any other support or service requested by the lab director.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, conduct, and assess labs in the Power System Protection, Electrical Machines, and Power System Analysis areas as per departmental requirements
• Deliver lab content and conduct labs for the assigned courses in relevant areas
• Upkeep, procurement, design, and development of lab equipment/modules as required
• Operation, maintenance, and inventory management of lab equipment and consumables
• Help in the lab setup, including the installation and calibration/quality check of new equipment
• Prepare the technical specifications, including the selection and sizing of lab equipment as required during the lab setup and upgradation process
• Should understand and implement the safety protocols in the lab
• Prepare and grade the laboratory exams
• Any other duty assigned by the department/supervisor

Knowledge & Skills

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering from an HEC recognized University with a minimum CGPA of 3.0.
