Integration Engineer – Job Description (UmerCo)Company Description
Umer & Company (UmerCo) is a solutions provider in the Managed File Transfer (MFT) and integration space, enabling secure system-to-system and business-to-business data exchange. As an official IBM Business Partner, UmerCo delivers IBM integration and MFT solutions, along with the implementation, support and maintenance around them, at competitive rates. We are now bringing AI and automation into our integration work to help clients move faster and focus on what matters most.
This is a full-time, on-site, mid-level Integration Engineer contractor role based at our Lahore office. You will design, build and maintain integrations between IBM integration products (IBM Sterling B2B Integrator / File Gateway and related tools), our customer-facing web portal and other business systems, working directly with client stakeholders on US-based engagements.
You will own integrations end to end: gathering requirements, building APIs and data flows, handling mappings and validations, testing, deploying under change-management controls and supporting what you ship. You will also build AI-driven automation into our delivery and support work. Structured training on IBM products is provided, but we expect you to arrive with solid integration and software fundamentals.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain integrations between IBM products, the web portal and client business systems
- Build and consume REST APIs and data flows; implement data mappings, transformations and validations across JSON, XML, CSV and flat-file formats
- Configure and support secure file transfer flows (SFTP, FTPS, AS2, HTTPS), partner onboarding and routing
- Work with client stakeholders to capture requirements and translate them into technical designs
- Support and extend the web portal (back-end services, database, front-end fixes)
- Troubleshoot production issues across application, database and network layers; perform root-cause analysis and document fixes
- Write unit and integration tests; carry out deployments through dev, test and production following change-management and security standards
- Build AI-driven automation (LLM APIs, agents, scripted workflows) for monitoring, onboarding and support tasks
- Maintain technical documentation, runbooks and handover notes
- Participate in the support rotation for client environments during US business hours

- Experience with Git and a basic understanding of CI/CD, testing and deployment practices
- Basic web application development experience (front-end or back-end)
- Interest in or hands-on experience with LLM APIs, AI agents or agentic workflows
- Understanding of data security fundamentals: encryption in transit and at rest, key and certificate handling, access control
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; able to work through unfamiliar systems independently
- Clear written and spoken English; comfortable communicating directly with US-based clients
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
