Job summary

Oasis Packaging is seeking an Industrial Engineer Intern to support process improvement, production efficiency, and operational analysis within our manufacturing environment. The intern will collaborate with production and operations teams to identify productivity and quality improvements.

Ideal candidates are engineering students with a basic understanding of industrial engineering, data collection, and Excel, and a willingness to learn on the shop floor in a packaging manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of industrial engineering and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to collect, organize, and interpret production data accurately.
• Familiar with process mapping, time studies, line balancing, or lean concepts is advantageous.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and willingness to learn on the shop floor.
• Clear written and verbal communication for concise observations and reports.
• Ability to collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and operations teams while following safety procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, tables, and basic charts.

Responsibilities

• Observe and document production workflows, material movement, and work methods.
• Collect and analyze operating data related to output, cycle time, downtime, waste, and labor utilization.
• Assist with time studies, process mapping, line balancing, and capacity analysis.
• Prepare clear reports, charts, and recommendations for supervisors and engineering staff.
• Follow workplace safety, quality, and material-handling procedures while participating in shop-floor activities.
