Job summary

AIO invites a Hardware Test Engineer in Islamabad to ensure the reliability of our AI-powered embedded devices. You will work with hardware prototypes, diagnose PCB-level faults, and contribute to automation frameworks and data analytics pipelines that scale our quality processes.

Reporting to the Senior Hardware Test Engineer, you will collaborate across hardware and firmware teams, perform functional and stress tests, develop Python scripts, and document results for audits and improvements.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in electronics and PCB concepts.
• Hands-on PCB debugging and fault diagnosis experience.
• Python for scripting, automation, or data analysis.
• Interest in test automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with data parsing and trend plotting.
• Understanding hardware validation processes is a plus.
• Exposure to quality assurance methodologies.
• Familiarity with mechanical QC is a plus.
• Curious, detail-oriented and collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional, performance, and stress testing on hardware devices and PCB assemblies.
• Assist in diagnosing and debugging PCB-level faults using test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, etc.).
• Develop and maintain Python-based test automation scripts to streamline repetitive testing workflows.
• Build and maintain data pipelines to collect, process, and visualize test results and production quality metrics.
• Identify trends in test data to surface quality issues early and support root cause analysis.
• Assist in creating and updating test plans and procedures for validating hardware prototypes.
• Document test results, log defects, and collaborate with the team on resolutions.
• Support quality control processes during production runs and participate in audits and inspections.
• Work alongside hardware and firmware engineers to troubleshoot design and performance issues.

About the Role

As a Hardware Test Engineer at AIO, you will be an integral part of our Test Team, responsible for ensuring the reliability and quality of our AI-powered embedded devices. In this hands‑on role, you will work with hardware prototypes, diagnose PCB‑level issues, and contribute to building automation frameworks and data analytics pipelines that help us scale our quality processes. You will report to the Senior Hardware Test Engineer and collaborate closely with hardware and firmware teams.

What Will Be Your Responsibilities?

• Perform functional, performance, and stress testing on hardware devices and PCB assemblies.
• Assist in diagnosing and debugging PCB‑level faults using test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, etc.).
• Develop and maintain Python‑based test automation scripts to streamline repetitive testing workflows.

What Are We Looking For?

• Solid foundation in electronics — understanding of circuits, PCB design concepts, an embedded systems.
• Basic hands‑on experience with PCB debugging and fault diagnosis using standard lab test equipment.
• Working knowledge of Python for scripting, automation, or data analysis.
• Interest in test automation frameworks and writing repeatable test scripts.
• Familiarity with data analytics concepts — parsing logs, plotting trends, identifying anomalies.
• Understanding of hardware validation and testing processes is a plus.
• Exposure to quality assurance methodologies is a plus.
• Familiarity with mechanical dimensional checks and mechanical QC processes is a plus.
