Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration / Finance / Economics or related field; HEc recognition.
  • Master's degree and/or certifications in Development Finance / Inclusive Finance / Sustainable Finance preferred.
  • Minimum 18 years of experience, with 12 years in Banking/Financial sector; 8 years as Head of SME/Agri/Commercial.
  • Alternative: 5 years as Head of Retail Banking; leadership in diversified portfolios and development-focused banking.

  • Lead Government initiatives for SME, Agriculture and program-based lending to support economic growth.
  • Support Green Banking, ESG, and Sustainable Finance per SBP guidelines and bank objectives.
  • Oversee ESG integration across business, credit, investment and operations with regulatory compliance.
  • Establish partnerships with regulators, DFIs, donors and development organizations for sustainability initiatives.
  • Provide strategic leadership to the Inclusive Development Group ensuring alignment with vision of inclusive and sustainable banking.

Our client National Bank of Pakistan is looking for a Group Chief Inclusive Development Group (SEVP) in Karachi

In line with our strategy, the Bank is looking for talented, dedicated and experienced professional(s) for the following position in the area of Inclusive Development based at Karachi, Pakistan.

The individuals who fulfill the below basic-eligibility criteria may apply for the following position:

Educational /Professional Qualification:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree from a local or international university / college / institute recognized by the HEC of Pakistan in Business Administration / Finance / Economics / Management / or a related discipline
  • Candidates possessing a Master's degree and / or certifications in Development Finance / Inclusive Finance / Sustainable Finance / SME / Agricultural Finance / or related fields will be preferred
Experience:
  • Minimum 18 years of working experience out of which 12 years in Banking and / or Financial Sector with at least:
  • 08 years as Head of SME and / or Agri and / or Commercial business
OR
  • 05 years as Head of Retail Banking
  • Preference will be given to the candidates having:
  • Experience in managing diversified banking portfolios, including SME, agriculture, commercial lending and overseeing multi-divisional development-focused banking operations and working closely with senior management and Board-level committees on strategic planning, governance and business oversight
  • Proven leadership in developing and implementing sustainability, green finance, financial inclusion and development finance initiatives, including stakeholder engagement and strategic partnerships with DFls and regulators
Other Skills / Expertise / Knowledge Required:
  • Strong leadership, people management and strategic decision-making skills with the ability to lead multi-divisional teams and drive institutional performance
  • Strong understanding of SME, agriculture, microfinance and inclusive / development banking within a regulated environment
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage effectively with Boards, regulators and external institutions
  • High integrity and strong governance mindset with sound analytical and risk management capabilities and the ability to deliver results in a complex, regulated and performance-driven environment
Outline of Main Duties / Responsibilities
  • To lead the Government of Pakistan’s initiatives for SME, Agriculture and other program-based lending by ensuring effective development and implementation of suitable financing solutions for economic growth
  • To support in implementing the Bank’s Green Banking, ESG, and Sustainable Finance strategy in line with SBP guidelines, best international practices, and the Bank’s strategic objectives
  • To support in developing and promoting sustainable finance and green lending initiatives including renewable energy, climate-smart agriculture, financial inclusion, and environmentally responsible investments
  • To oversee ESG integration and climate risk considerations across the Bank’s business, credit, investment and operational frameworks while ensuring compliance with regulatory and sustainability reporting requirements
  • To establish strategic partnerships with regulators, DFIs, donors, and development organizations for advancing sustainability initiatives, green financing opportunities, and inclusive development programs
  • To provide overall strategic leadership and policy direction to the Inclusive Development Group (IDG) ensuring alignment of all its Divisions with NBP's vision of promoting inclusive and sustainable banking in Pakistan
  • To formulate and implement strategies to achieve Group-wide objectives encompassing Agriculture, Commercial & SME, Microfinance & Special Initiative, Corporate Social Responsibility
  • To oversee the performance and growth of all IDG Divisions ensuring achievement of assigned business targets, portfolio quality and regulatory compliance
  • To supervise and guide Divisional Heads in business planning, product development and execution of initiatives aimed at expanding the Bank's financial inclusion footprint
  • To review / recommend credit proposals as per Credit Approval Authority for onward approval by RMG accordingly
  • To monitor / support growth in Agriculture, SME, Commercial Financing, as per Annual Targets
  • To represent IDG in Board Inclusive Development Committee, Board Committees and senior management forums
  • To participate in Executive Management Committees including Management Credit Committee (MCC), ALCO, Enterprise Risk Management Committee (ERMC), Expense Approval Committee (EAC) & other meetings
  • To oversee the preparation and consolidation of group budgets and business plans ensuring achievement of strategic objectives through effective performance monitoring
  • To promote a compliance-oriented environment that supports continuous improvement and minimize audit findings

Employment Type:

The employment will be on contractual basis for three years which may be renewed on discretion of the Management. Selected candidates will be offered compensation package and other benefits as per Bank’s Policy / rules.
