  • Experience in education sector or large organizations is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day financial operations of the University.
  • Ensure receipts, including student fees, are recorded in the ERP with supporting docs.
  • Reconcile unidentified receipts and resolve financial queries promptly.
  • Process payments in line with approved policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual financial reports.

Job description

The Finance Manager / Assistant Treasurer is responsible for managing the University's financial operations by ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, timely reporting, budget management, compliance with financial policies, and effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders. The role supports the Treasurer/CFO in maintaining sound financial governance and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations
  • Manage the day-to-day financial operations of the University.
  • Ensure all receipts, including student fee collections and other income, are accurately recorded in the ERP system with complete supporting documentation.
  • Reconcile unidentified receipts and resolve outstanding financial queries promptly.
  • Ensure all payments are processed in accordance with approved financial policies and procedures.
Accounting & Record Management
  • Maintain accurate accounting records for operational expenses, capital expenditures (CAPEX), and investments.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records for internal, external, and HEC audits.
  • Monitor compliance with organizational financial policies and accounting standards.
Financial Reporting & Budgeting
  • Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual financial reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
  • Conduct budget variance analysis and provide management with meaningful financial insights and recommendations.
Coordination & Compliance
  • Coordinate with banks regarding financial transactions and banking matters.
  • Liaise with University departments and Dawat-e-Islami's affiliated institutions to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Support audit activities by providing required financial records and explanations.
  • Carry out any additional finance-related assignments as directed by the Treasurer, CFO, or Director Finance.
Qualification
  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration (Finance), or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CA (Inter), ICMA, or CPA will be considered an added advantage.
Experience
  • Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Experience working with ERP-based financial management systems is preferred.
  • Prior experience in the education sector or a large organization will be an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial management.
  • Experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with a high level of accuracy and integrity.
