Job summary

JazzWorld in Islamabad seeks an Expert RAN Optimization to shape nationwide performance across 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G. You will own the user and application experience, drive feature trials, and coordinate with multiple teams to ensure timely rollout and KPI attainment.

You will leverage network, crowdsourced, and application data to identify gaps, lead trials, and hold vendors to commitments and SLAs while delivering measurable improvements in QoS for millions of customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication, Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering/Computer Science.
• 5–8 years of RAN optimization experience across 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G NSA/SA.
• Deep knowledge of LTE and 5G NR call flows, KPIs, VoLTE, carrier aggregation and Massive MIMO.
• Hands-on optimization experience with Huawei and ZTE (Nokia/Ericsson a plus).
• Proficiency with vendor OSS, performance and drive-test tools; familiarity with Python, SQL, Power BI/Tableau, GIS and crowdsourced data.

Responsibilities

• Own nationwide user and application experience across 2G–5G, from feature trials to site acceptances.
• Lead optimization initiatives using KPI targets, data analysis and trials to drive rollout.
• Plan, run and assess vendor feature trials, quantify gains, and recommend nationwide deployments.
• Coordinate with Planning, Operations, Core, Commercial and Regulatory teams to ensure delivery and SLAs.
• Analyze network and crowdsourced data, automate reporting and benchmark against peers.

As Expert RAN Optimization, you will be part of the HQ RAN Optimization Team, which sets nationwide optimization strategy for Pakistan’s largest mobile network. You will report directly to the Manager RAN Optimization and be part of a 6-member team.

You will own the user and application experience agenda across 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G, from new-layer rollouts and feature trials to VIP complaint closure. You will turn network, crowdsourced and application data into nationwide optimization initiatives, lead trials of new features and technologies, and hold vendors to account for delivery.

What you’ll own

• Drive nationwide user experience by optimizing accessibility, retainability, throughput and latency across 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G.
• Optimize application experience for video streaming, gaming, social media and OTT using app-level KPIs, DPI and probe data.
• Lead optimization and KPI-based acceptance of new sites, layers and technologies (5G NSA/SA, L700, Massive MIMO, carrier additions).
• Plan and run vendor feature trials, quantify gains and recommend nationwide rollout, while maintaining parameter baselines and closing audit discrepancies.
• Analyze network and crowdsourced data, automate recurring reporting and benchmark JazzWorld against competitors (Ookla/Opensignal, drive tests, PTA QoS surveys), turning gaps into action plans.
• Close VIP, corporate and regulatory complaints end to end, and hold Huawei and ZTE to feature commitments and SLAs while coordinating with Planning, Operations, Core, Commercial and Regulatory teams.

What success looks like

• User and application experience KPIs improve measurably, nationwide and in priority clusters.
• New sites and layers pass KPI acceptance on schedule, with fewer post-launch issues.
• Trialed features reach nationwide rollout on proven gains, and the parameter baseline stays standardized.
• JazzWorld holds or improves its position in crowdsourced and PTA QoS benchmarks.
• VIP and regulatory complaints close within agreed timelines, with root causes fixed.
• Vendors deliver committed features against agreed SLAs and timelines.

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication, Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering/Computer Science.
• Bring 5-8 years of RAN optimization experience across 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G NSA/SA, with a proven track record in feature trials, new-layer rollouts and site acceptances.
• Have deep knowledge of LTE and 5G NR (call flows, KPIs, VoLTE, carrier aggregation, Massive MIMO) and hands-on Huawei and ZTE optimization experience (Nokia or Ericsson is a plus).
• Are skilled in vendor OSS, performance and drive-test tools (Huawei PRS, Nastar, SmartCare, ZTE NetMAX, TEMS, NEMO, Actix, Genex), with Python, SQL, Power BI/Tableau, GIS and crowdsourced data experience as a plus.
• Have strong analytical skills, present clearly to senior management, vendors and regulators, and bring ownership and drive for results under pressure.
