What is Executive Taxation?
The Executive Taxation will be responsible for supporting the company’s tax compliance and reporting activities across sales tax, income tax, and other applicable levies. The role requires hands-on involvement in monthly filings, reconciliations, and supporting tax audits, while ensuring strict adherence to statutory deadlines and evolving regulatory requirements. The role will also assist in resolving tax-related queries from internal departments and external authorities.
What does Executive Taxation do?
Sales Tax / Indirect Tax
- Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns across all relevant jurisdictions (provincial and federal).
- Ensure proper application of sales tax on invoices based on applicable rates and exemptions (e.g., inter-provincial rentals, asset transfers).
- Reconcile sales tax general ledger with filed returns and identify variances.
- Coordinate with supply chain and finance teams to validate tax on purchases and services (input tax credit).
- Maintain updated records of provincial and FBR registrations, STRNs, and tax office correspondence.
Income Tax / Direct Tax
- Assist in computation and payment of monthly withholding taxes (suppliers, contracts, salaries, etc.).
- Prepare and file monthly withholding statements (e.g., 236A, 153, 149, 155).
- Support annual corporate tax return preparation, including gathering schedules, ledgers, and supporting documentation.
- Liaise with tax consultants and auditors during tax assessments, audits, and appeals.
- Track tax notices, refunds, and correspondence with FBR and PRA/SRB.
General Taxation Support
- Monitor changes in tax laws and notify senior management of their potential impact.
- Assist in managing compliance risks related to tax disputes, audits, and litigation.
- Provide tax data and reports to finance and legal teams for reporting and provisioning.
- Maintain accurate tax records and support timely financial closing activities.
