Job summary

FlowHCM is seeking an ER Pharmacist to review and dispense emergency prescriptions, perform validation checks, and provide patient counseling within hospital SOPs. The role requires coordination with technicians for timely preparation and documentation of meds and adherence to safety standards.

The successful candidate will handle urgent ER requests, maintain dispensing records, and contribute to quality improvement through meetings and trainings.

Responsibilities

• Review and dispense emergency prescriptions accurately and in compliance with hospital pharmacy SOPs
• Perform prescription validation including drug interaction screening, dose verification, and allergy checks
• Provide clear medication counseling to patients, caregivers, or nursing staff as appropriate
• Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and documentation of all dispensed medications
• Coordinate with pharmacy technicians for timely preparation and staging of emergency prescriptions
• Refer clinically complex prescriptions or ambiguous orders to the Senior Pharmacist or Supervisor
• Maintain accurate and complete dispensing records, including documentation of controlled substances
• Respond promptly to urgent medication requests from ER clinical staff during the shift
• Report medication errors, adverse drug reactions, near-misses, and stock issues to the immediate supervisor
• Assist in checking and restocking crash carts and emergency medication kits as assigned
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards of the dispensing area
• Participate in pharmacy team meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement activities
