Job summary

SLB in Islamabad is seeking a Field Engineer Trainee to join our Artificial Lift team. This entry-level program provides hands-on training and mentorship to develop into a field engineer responsible for delivering artificial lift solutions to clients in oil and gas.

You will work in the field, learn ESP, gas lift, and rod lift systems, support field service delivery, and grow technical competency while maintaining safety, developing customer relationships, and documenting field activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Petroleum or related field).
• 0–3 years of relevant experience.
• Willingness to work in the field locations, including remote or rig sites, and travel.

Responsibilities

• Support field service delivery for Artificial Lift operations, ensuring jobs are executed safely and efficiently
• Learn and apply Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards on every job site
• Assist in risk analysis and job planning prior to field operations
• Work closely with senior engineers to understand equipment installation, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Provide day-to-day support to customers, addressing operational needs and building strong working relationships
• Participate in on-the-job training programs to develop technical competency in artificial lift systems (ESP, gas lift, rod lift, etc., depending on assignment)
• Maintain accurate job records, reports, and documentation in line with company standards
