Overview
Cavalier Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Design Engineer with 2–3 years of experience in the automotive industry and strong proficiency in SolidWorks Electrical. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electrical schematics, harness layouts, and component integration for automotive systems.
Responsibilities
- Created and maintained detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and 2D/3D harness designs using CAD modelling software.
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
- Support vehicle-level electrical architecture development and assist in the selection of electrical components and systems.
- Review and update Bill of Materials (BOMs) and other documentation related to electrical designs.
- Participate in design reviews, DFMEA sessions, and troubleshooting activities during prototype builds and validation phases.
- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
- Assist in change management processes and ensure compliance with automotive industry standards and project requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of professional experience in the automotive industry.
- Proven expertise in SolidWorks Electrical (schematic and 3D routing).
- Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems, wiring harnesses, and vehicle architecture.
- Familiarity with automotive standards such as ISO 26262, IATF 16949, and ASME Y14.5 is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CAN/LIN bus systems and diagnostic protocols.
- Knowledge of vehicle testing, validation, and troubleshooting techniques.
