EHR Training Lead for MEDITECH Go-Live

Job summary

Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) in Karachi is seeking an experienced Training Manager to lead the hospital-wide MEDITECH go-live training program. You will plan, schedule, and oversee training for ~500 super users and ~10,000 end-users, coordinating across departments and shifts.

Responsibilities include developing role-based curricula, ensuring trainer readiness, quality assurance, and reporting on progress to leadership. On-site presence is required through go-live and stabilization.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, medical education, information technology, or related field.
• 7+ years in healthcare training, clinical informatics, or EHR implementation (MEDITECH, Epic, Cerner, or similar systems).
• Experience planning and managing large-scale training programs (multiple hundreds to thousands of learners).
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and competency-based training methodologies, along with clinical and administrative hospital workflows.
• Excellent organizational, scheduling, and project management skills.
• Strong facilitation, coaching, and communication skills, with the ability to work across physician, nursing, ancillary, and administrative audiences.
• Certification in adult learning, instructional design, or project management (e.g., PMP, ATD, CPHIMS)
• Fluency in English and Urdu (spoken and written); familiarity with local dialects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead overall training program leadership and scheduling for hospital-wide MEDITECH go-live.
• Develop and manage training plan for ~500 super users and ~10,000 end-users, aligned to go-live timeline.
• Coordinate training schedules, venues, and materials across departments and shifts.
• Monitor training completion, competency attainment, and readiness targets.
• Verify trainers are subject matter experts and well-prepared to deliver content.
• Work with AKU OneHealth team to develop role-based curricula and quick-reference materials.
• Maintain version control and training documentation; ensure content stays current.
• Ensure training environments are prepared and logistics are in place for sessions.
• Provide regular status reports on training progress and readiness risks.
• On-site presence throughout go-live and stabilization periods.
