DevOps Engineer

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for ensuring adherence to the SLAs as per contract.
2. Take the lead on urgent issues and projects, ensuring statuses are properly communicated and appropriate staffing resources are assigned as required.
3. Have a thorough process methodology and ability to communicate with all stakeholders.
4. Work collaboratively with development engineering to create and deploy a CI/CD infrastructure.
5. Automate deployment of Linux applications, system configurations, and security settings.
6. Deploy and support applications in a cloud environment.
7. Responsible for infrastructure security, ensuring environments are secure, reliable, scalable, and automated.
8. Provide direct server support during various operations such as deployment and general production.
9. Collaborate with developers to ensure new environments meet requirements and conform to best practices.
10. Design, implement, and test agreed-upon infrastructures.

Qualifications:

1. BS degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or similar relevant field.
2. Minimum 1-2 years of related experience in the professional industry.
3. Familiarity with DevOps practices and automation tooling.
4. Facility with techniques used to virtualize servers, applications, and desktops. Knowledge of the data center requirements to implement each technology.
5. Experience with open-source tools, i.e., Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, Chef, Terraform, etc.
6. Experience with infrastructure tools like Terraform and Cloud Formation.
7. Exposure to any of the Cloud platforms - Azure, GCP, or AWS.
8. Basic level scripting experience (Python, Ruby, Bash, Powershell).
9. Experience with Linux distributions (RHEL 8, CentOS, Ubuntu, and Amazon Linux).
10. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
