Job summary

Frontier Works Organization is seeking a Geologist with field expertise for core drilling supervision in Nokundi. You will monitor progress, ensure core quality, and maintain records, working with contractors and cross-functional teams in challenging terrain.

Qualifications

• MS/ BS in Geology Engineering or Earth Sciences is required.
• Strong field logging and sampling experience needed.
• Proven ability to operate in remote/mountainous terrain.

Responsibilities

• Supervise core drilling activities to meet geological objectives, drilling parameters, and safety standards.
• Monitor drilling progress, penetration rates, and core recovery; adjust parameters as required.
• Liaise with drilling contractors to ensure efficiency and core quality.
• Oversee borehole stabilization, casing, and grouting when necessary.
• Ensure systematic core recovery, orientation, and marking at the drill site.
• Perform detailed geological logging following standard protocols.
• Conduct geotechnical logging where required (RQD, fracture frequency, etc.).
• Maintain drill hole records, core trays, and sampling intervals.
• Oversee core cutting and sampling ensuring representativeness and contamination control.
• Prepare sample tickets, dispatch to laboratories, and track results.
• Perform QA/QC checks on analytical results and data integrity.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and end-of-hole drilling and geological reports.
• Communicate progress to senior geologists and project managers.
• Coordinate with survey, geophysical, and geochemical teams.
