The Director Supply Chain is a critical member of the Business Operations team, responsible for providing strategic oversight of S&OP, procurement, logistics, and warehouse operations. This role ensures a seamless flow of goods from procurement to customer delivery. Key responsibilities include managing warehouses for finished goods and raw materials (corn), logistics planning, and inventory control. The Director will integrate S&OP, logistics, and warehouse strategies with the company’s broader objectives, driving collaboration across sales, procurement, and production teams. The incumbent will manage capacity planning, balance production with inventory and distribution strategies, and ensure customer service levels are met while minimizing costs. The focus will be on enhancing operational efficiency, optimizing resources, and delivering exceptional service to support organizational growth.


Core Responsibilities:


Procurement:


  • Develop and Implement Strategies: Create and execute procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective sourcing of materials, aligning with the company's financial goals.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts to secure the best terms and conditions.
  • Market Trend Monitoring: Continuously monitor market trends and adjust procurement strategies to stay competitive and responsive to market changes.

Finished Goods Warehouse:


  • Warehouse Management: Oversee the management of the finished goods warehouse to ensure optimal inventory levels and efficient operations.
  • Best Practices Implementation: Implement best practices for warehouse operations, including storage, handling, and distribution, to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure all warehouse operations comply with safety and regulatory standards to maintain a safe working environment.

Logistics:


  • Logistics Strategy Development: Develop and manage logistics strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products to customers.
  • Transportation Coordination: Coordinate with transportation providers to optimize shipping routes, reduce costs, and improve delivery times.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze logistics performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP):


  • S&OP Leadership: Lead the S&OP process to align supply chain activities with business goals, ensuring a balanced approach to supply and demand.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to forecast demand, plan inventory levels, and ensure effective communication and coordination across departments.
  • Capacity Planning: Manage capacity planning to balance production with inventory and distribution strategies, ensuring customer service levels are met while minimizing costs.

Corn Warehouse:


  • Warehouse Operations Oversight: Oversee the operations of the corn warehouse, ensuring efficient and safe storage of corn as a raw material.
  • Inventory Management: Implement inventory management practices to minimize waste, maximize efficiency, and ensure a steady supply of corn to the manufacturing site.
  • Quality and Safety Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with quality and safety standards to maintain high levels of product integrity and safety.

Qualified candidates will have:


Mandatory Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement, warehouse management, logistics, and S&OP processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements and achieve operational excellence.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools.
