Job summary

Mashreq Careers is seeking a Dev Engineer (Front-end) to transform design and product vision into responsive, user-friendly interfaces. You will work in an agile squad, focusing on fast delivery of IT products and maintaining high-quality front-end code.

You will collaborate with a Product Owner and multidisciplinary teams to refine requirements, implement robust UI components, and ensure integration with RESTful services while embracing modern tooling and testing practices.

Qualifications

• Past frontend development experience with modern JavaScript and React.
• Proven ability to transform design into working UI with clean interfaces.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and responsive design.

Responsibilities

• Participate in sprint events: planning, refinements, retrospectives, demos.
• Develop IT products and perform unit tests aligned with client needs.
• Design, build and test frontend components and automate where possible.
• Collaborate with designers, PO and SMEs to refine user stories.
• Maintain CD/CI pipelines and ensure code quality through reviews and tests.

Job Purpose

To deliver and maintain IT-applications and –services in order to realize the Mashreq strategy in the field of information technology. Engineers in this job category work in an agile way, in squads to deliver short-cycle full-fledged IT products.

• Is able to perform tasks independently based on experience, but is struggling with solving issues concerning complex questions

• Is not yet fully able to tackle and independently resolve new problems

• Uses his/her technical expertise and experience to contribute to all sprint events (planning, refinements, retrospectives, demos)

• Consults with the team about what is needed to fulfil the functional and non-functional requirements of the IT product to be developed

• Develops the IT product, performs the unit test in line with the customer’s wishes and IT area’s internal ambitions and reviews colleagues’ IT products.

• Designs, builds and tests IT products (functional, performance, resilience and security tests) and automates them.

• Performs Life Cycle Management (including decommissioning) for IT products under management

• Improves the Continuous Delivery process

• Resolves incidents and problems relating to IT products under management (including stack)

• Sets up the IT environment, deploys the IT product on the IT infrastructure and implements the required changes

• Sets up monitoring of IT product usage by the customer

• Works within a multidisciplinary team or in an environment in which multidisciplinary teamwork is carried out.

• Is primarily responsible for the production (or technical configuration) of software applications.

• The range of tasks includes the following:

• the analysis and design of the application (or the technical configuration);

• coding applications and/or package integration in one programming languages, scripting languages and frameworks:

• HTML, CSS/LESS/SCSS/etc., JavaScript, and responsive design

• Mobile development experience with either native or web-to-native tooling and frameworks

• JavaScript frameworks and libraries specifically React

• Understanding of RESTful APIs and how use them in practice

• Knowledge of Object-Oriented programing

• Continuous Delivery (Compile, Build, Package, Deploy);

• Test-Driven Development (TDD) and test automation (e.g. regression, functional and integration tests);debugging and profiling;

• Experience using JavaScript frameworks and libraries specifically React

• Understanding of RESTful APIs and how use them in practice

• Knowledge of Object-Oriented programing

• Ability to write effective unit, integration, and end-user automation tests

• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies

• Experience as a Developer on a cross-functional agile team preferred
