Job summary

Pakistan Single Window (PSW) is recruiting on behalf of the National Agri-Trade and Food Safety Authority (NAFSA) to join its foundational team. The selected candidate will contribute to developing systems, processes, and institutional capabilities for enhanced regulatory oversight and modernization of agri-trade and food safety workflows.

The role focuses on overseeing pesticide testing laboratories, validating methods, and supporting enforcement and post-market surveillance.

Qualifications

• Experience with validated analytical methods and laboratory QA/QC processes.
• Strong understanding of pesticide formulation, residue, and quality testing.
• Proven supervisory and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee pesticide testing laboratories and analytical systems used for regulatory testing, compliance verification, and enforcement support.
• Ensure validated analytical methods, quality assurance, and accreditation compliance for pesticide testing.
• Supervise review of test results, laboratory documentation, and reporting for integrity and traceability.
• Coordinate sample receipt, testing schedules, and timely reporting to registration and enforcement units.
• Maintain laboratory governance including equipment maintenance, safety protocols, and record-keeping.
• Provide technical inputs for regulatory actions and post-market surveillance based on lab findings.
• Perform other responsibilities assigned by the reporting officer to support NAFSA's mandate.

The selected candidate will be part of NAFSA's foundational team, contributing to the development of systems, processes, and institutional capabilities.

Main Responsibilities

• Oversee pesticide testing laboratories and analytical systems used for regulatory testing, compliance verification, and enforcement support
• Ensure validated analytical methods, quality assurance, and accreditation compliance for pesticide formulation, residue, and quality testing
• Supervise review of test results, laboratory documentation, and reporting to ensure integrity, traceability, and defensible evidence
• Coordinate sample receipt, testing schedules, and timely reporting to registration and enforcement units
• Maintain laboratory governance including equipment maintenance, safety protocols, and record-keeping
• Provide technical inputs for regulatory actions, enforcement support, and post-market surveillance based on laboratory findings
• Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the reporting officer in support of NAFSA's mandate

Requirements

Education

• M.Sc. in Chemistry (Organic/Analytical) (Minimum sixteen years of education) or B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agricultural Chemistry or equivalent relevant discipline (sixteen years)

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in pesticide residue/formulation analysis, laboratory QA/QC, or regulatory testing systems
• Experience with validated analytical methods, laboratory quality systems, and accreditation processes
• Strong integrity, documentation, and supervisory skills
