Job summary

Pakistan Single Window (PSW) is recruiting on behalf of the National Agri-Trade and Food Safety Authority (NAFSA) to join its foundational team. Responsibilities

• Manage planning and oversight of pesticide studies for regulatory evaluation.
• Coordinate with research institutions and trial sites to ensure protocol compliance.

Job description

This position is being recruited by Pakistan Single Window (PSW) on behalf of the National Agri-Trade and Food Safety Authority (NAFSA). NAFSA is being established as a strategic national initiative to strengthen Pakistan's agri-trade ecosystem through enhanced regulatory oversight, facilitation, and modernization of food safety and trade processes. The selected candidate will be part of NAFSA's foundational team, contributing to the development of systems, processes, and institutional capabilities.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage planning and oversight of pesticide studies and trials (bio-efficacy, residues, environmental fate, non-target impacts) required for regulatory evaluation
• Coordinate with research institutions, consultants, and trial sites to ensure studies follow approved protocols and quality requirements
• Review study outputs and technical summaries to support evidence-based registration decisions and post-market surveillance
• Ensure consistency and traceability of study documentation, raw data, and reporting for regulatory defensibility
• Support post-registration monitoring and regulatory reviews based on study evidence and emerging risks
• Provide technical briefs and recommendations to the Director and relevant committees
• Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the reporting officer in support of NAFSA's mandate

Requirements

Education

• M.Sc. (Hons.) / MPhil (Minimum eighteen years of education) in Agriculture (Entomology/Plant Protection/Plant Pathology, Weed Science) or Chemistry/Environmental Sciences or related discipline

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in pesticide studies, regulatory evaluation of pesticide data, residue testing, formulation quality assessment, or related fields
• Strong understanding of study design/protocol compliance and regulatory use of study evidence
• Research publications in HEC-recognised journals (preferred)
