Job summary

You will independently translate business requirements into data test scenarios, write complex SQL queries, perform source-to-target validation, and collaborate with QA, Development, BA, and product teams.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of QA experience in Data Analytics, Data QA, ETL/ELT, Data Warehouse, BI, or data-focused testing.
• Strong hands-on SQL skills including joins, CTEs, subqueries, aggregations, and complex data validation queries.
• Experience with data reconciliation and source-to-target validation, data transformations, mappings, and data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Perform data validation and data quality testing across source and target systems.
• Validate ETL/ELT processes, data transformations, mappings, and business rules.
• Write and execute complex SQL queries for data validation, reconciliation, and analysis.
• Perform source-to-target validation and investigate data mismatches.
• Validate record counts, totals, calculations, duplicates, missing/null values, and overall data integrity.
• Test reports, dashboards, and analytics by validating the underlying data as well as the presentation layer.
• Collaborate with QA, Development, BA, Product, and business teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Communicate data-quality findings and root causes clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Utilize AI tools within QA and Data Analytics activities to improve testing and productivity.

Job description

We are seeking a QA professional with 3–5+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Data QA, ETL/ELT, Data Warehousing, BI, reporting, or related data-focused testing. The ideal candidate should be highly hands‑on with data and strong in SQL, data validation, reconciliation, and investigating data discrepancies. This is a data-focused QA role rather than a traditional application/UI testing role.

The candidate should be able to independently understand business requirements, determine the appropriate data validation approach, write complex SQL queries, identify discrepancies, and investigate the root cause of data issues.

Responsibilities:

• Perform data validation and data quality testing across source and target systems.
• Validate ETL/ELT processes, data transformations, mappings, and business rules.
• Write and execute complex SQL queries for data validation, reconciliation, and analysis.
• Perform source-to-target validation and investigate data mismatches.
• Validate record counts, totals, calculations, duplicates, missing/null values, and overall data integrity.
• Perform data reconciliation across multiple datasets and identify the root cause of discrepancies.
• Test reports, dashboards, and analytics by validating the underlying data as well as the presentation layer.
• Analyze unfamiliar datasets to identify relationships, anomalies, inconsistencies, and potential data‑quality issues.
• Translate business requirements into appropriate data test scenarios and validation approaches.
• Create and maintain test cases, test scenarios, and test data specifically for data validation.
• Investigate data issues independently and collaborate with QA, Development, BA, Product, and business teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Clearly communicate data‑quality findings, issues, and root causes to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Utilize AI tools within QA and Data Analytics activities to improve testing, analysis, and productivity.

Qualifications:

• 3–5+ years of QA experience, specifically in Data Analytics, Data QA, ETL/ELT, Data Warehouse, BI, reporting, or similar data‑focused testing.
• Strong hands‑on SQL skills, including joins, CTEs, subqueries, aggregations, and complex data validation queries.
• Strong understanding of relational databases, tables, keys, relationships, and data types.
• Hands‑on experience with data reconciliation and source‑to‑target validation.
• Strong understanding of data transformations, mappings, business rules, and data integrity.
• Experience testing reports, dashboards, and analytics at the underlying data level.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to independently investigate data discrepancies and identify root causes.
• Experience creating data‑focused test cases and test scenarios.
• Experience using AI tools within QA or Data Analytics is required.
• API testing/Postman experience is a plus.
• Playwright or data‑test automation experience is a plus.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, or similar technologies is a plus.
• Azure DevOps experience is preferred.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
