Contour Software is seeking a Data Engineer to own data pipelines from ingestion to dashboards. You will work across Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL and Power BI to turn raw survey and market data into actionable insights for clients.

The role emphasizes hands-on work in a small, growing team with opportunities to shape the platform and collaborate with research, client, and infrastructure colleagues.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Microsoft Fabric data pipelines and Python notebooks.
• Strong Power BI dashboard development and data modelling skills.
• Experience with Azure SQL and complex queries.
• Excellent debugging and diagnostic abilities from logs to root cause.
• Able to work independently on ambiguous problems and document fixes.
• Familiar with Agile delivery and prioritization across parallel workstreams.
• Strong communication to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Genuine enthusiasm for technology and AI.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, extend and troubleshoot data pipelines in Microsoft Fabric.
• Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Write and optimise SQL on Azure SQL estate.
• Investigate pipeline failures and improve observability.
• Document how things work to avoid lost knowledge.
• Collaborate with research and client teams to understand data needs.
• Communicate progress, risks and blockers clearly.
• Apply AI where it adds value in data products.
