Job summary

HBL People is seeking a PhD-level cybersecurity researcher to advance cutting-edge topics, analyze technologies, and contribute to capacity building. You will develop innovative solutions, conduct experiments, and mentor junior analysts and interns in malware analysis and threat research methodologies.

Collaborate with banking/fintech teams to share threat insights, publish research results, and participate in project management and budgeting for innovation initiatives.

Qualifications

• PhD/MPhil in Computer Science or Information Security or MIS.
• Certifications GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware (GREM) or GIAC Cyber Threat Intelligence (GCTI) are a plus.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior staff.
• Strong communication and reporting skills for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Advance the current state-of-the-art in cybersecurity topics.
• Analyze cybersecurity technologies, solutions, developments and processes.
• Assist in capacity building including awareness, training, mentoring and testing.
• Develop innovative cybersecurity-related solutions and proofs of concept.
• Publish and present scientific works and RDI results.
• Lead innovation projects including budgeting and governance.
