Job summary

HBL People seeks a Head of Cyber Security Research and Innovation in Karachi, Pakistan. The role focuses on advancing cybersecurity research, innovating solutions, and leading a team of researchers and engineers in a banking/digital channel context.

The candidate will analyze technologies, mentor staff, manage projects, and publish findings while aligning with regulatory and industry standards. A strong leadership background in security research is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or information security.
• 12 years total with 8 years in security research/innovation/productization and 4-6 years people leadership.
• Preferably 3-5 years in banking/digital channels.
• Certifications: CCSP, CISM, GCTI/GREM.

Responsibilities

• Advance the state-of-the-art in cybersecurity topics.
• Analyze and assess cybersecurity technologies, solutions, developments and processes.
• Lead cybersecurity capacity building including awareness, training, testing and mentoring.
• Lead development of innovative cybersecurity solutions and proof-of-concept pilots.
• Conduct experiments and build proof of concept, pilots and prototypes.
• Conduct research, innovation and development in cybersecurity topics.
• Contribute to cutting-edge cybersecurity business ideas, services and solutions.
• Identify cross-sectoral cybersecurity achievements and apply them contextually.
• Lead or participate in innovation processes and projects including budgeting.
• Generate and publish research ideas and results.
• Apply frameworks, methods, standards, tools and protocols to support projects.
