Job summary

Tangent International is urgently seeking an experienced CS Core Network Engineer – L2 to support mission-critical circuit-switched core network operations, maintenance, and technical delivery activities for large mobile carrier networks.

With 5–8 years of hands-on telecom core network experience, you will troubleshoot MSC/MSS, MGW, HLR/HSS, run signaling analysis across SS7/SIGTRAN/MAP/ISUP/SIP, and perform RCA, upgrades, and preventive health audits while following change management processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline.
• Between 5 to 8 years of dedicated, relevant professional engineering experience in telecommunications Core Network operations.
• Strong hands-on operational and maintenance experience across CS Core Network architecture and voice switching systems.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency with MSC/MSS, MGW, HLR/HSS platforms, circuit-switched signaling, and mobile voice services.
• In-depth working knowledge of core telecommunications signaling protocols including SS7, SIGTRAN, MAP, ISUP, and SIP."
• Proven capability to analyze signaling traces, diagnose protocol failures, and perform structured technical fault resolution.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day operations, routine administration, preventive maintenance, and Tier-2 troubleshooting across CS Core Network elements.
• Investigate, isolate, and resolve complex technical faults related to MSC/MSS, MGW, HLR/HSS, and interconnected core systems.
• Execute network configuration, hardware integration, commissioning, software upgrades, and voice service migration activities.
• Monitor and analyze core network alarms, traffic statistics, voice KPIs, and service abnormalities to deliver effective corrective actions.
• Conduct granular fault diagnosis, signaling trace analysis, and end-to-end RCA on network incidents.
• Perform routine system health audits, database backups, capacity checks, and parameter fine-tuning to ensure optimal network performance.
• Coordinate actively with customer operational teams, multi-vendor support engineers, and project leads during major outage handling and deliveries.
• Enforce formal change management procedures and author rigorous technical reports, troubleshooting documentation, and MOP guidelines.
