Job summary

Mobilink Microfinance Bank Ltd. is seeking a Verification Officer to support branches in achieving business targets while maintaining prudent credit risk.

The role involves independent review of loan files, participation in credit decisions, and ensuring accuracy of borrower information across the lending process. The candidate will perform pre-approval verifications, monitor post-disbursement checks, and coordinate with branches to improve processes.

Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Banking & Finance/ Agriculture/Economics/Accounts.
• Have 3–5 years of credit and related experience.

Responsibilities

• Support branches to meet business targets while ensuring credit risk is prudent and per policy.
• Conduct independent desk review of loan files for accuracy and completeness as per credit policy.
• Participate in branch Credit Committee for credit decisions and provide independent judgment on loan applications.
• Maintain MIS of all loan applications, processing and rejections.
• Coordinate with branches to improve loan rejection rate and share best practices.
• Conduct pre-approval verifications (physical or telephonic) to assess borrower information and creditworthiness.
• Verify borrower existence and business activity through cross-verification of addresses and documentation.
• Ensure knowledge of business purpose and CIR-compliant credit history.
• Provide trainings to Branch Staff to strengthen credit assessment and monitoring.
• On onboarding goldsmiths, verify credentials as per bank policy and conduct quarterly verifications.
