Job summary

Greenstar Social Marketing Pakistan (Guarantee) Limited is seeking a field counselor to support TB prevention efforts. You will counsel index TB patients and their families for TPT, coordinate data with DFS, and visit chest camps to extend services at private hospitals.

You will screen household contacts, assist in initiating TPT when eligible, and ensure medicines are available while maintaining meticulous records and monthly progress reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology or relevant discipline.
• Experience in development sector as counselor or similar role is desirable.
• Excellent communication, counselling, coordination and training skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Counsel registered index TB patients and eligible family members for TPT via phone calls and visits.
• Coordinate with the DFS for information about registered patients and families.
• Visit Chest Camps to provide TPT services to eligible family members.
• Ensure household contacts are screened and put on TPT if physician approves.
• Facilitate management of adverse events and referrals to physicians.
• Ensure TPT medicines are available and report stock issues to supervisor.
• Maintain records of contacts and follow-ups.
• Develop and follow monthly work plan with supervisor.
• Prepare monthly field progress reports and data for sub-recipients.

Job description

• Counsel registered index TB patients and their eligible family members for TPT through phone calls, at large private hospitals (that are selected for provision of TPT services), visiting households, etc.
• Coordination with the DFS for obtaining information about registered index TB patients and their family members
• Visit Chest Camps (contact screening camps) for the provision of TPT services to eligible family members of index TB patients
• Ensure household contacts of registered index TB patients at large private hospitals are screened via X-ray, checked up by physicians and putting on TPT if eligible by physician
• Facilitate the household contacts put on TPT in case of adverse events and referred to the physician
• Ensure TPT medicines are available, and in case of unavailability, report this to the concerned supervisor
• Maintain records of contacts, i.e., those counseled and followed up until outcome declaration
• Develop and follow the monthly work plan in coordination with the supervisor
• Prepare a field progress report based on the work plan and submit it on a monthly basis
• Ensure timely data collection and provision to sub-recipients for analysis
• Any other task assigned by the supervisor

Job Specification:

Bachelors’ degree preferably Psychology / relevant discipline

Experience of working in development sector as counselor/similar role, Excellent communication, counselling, coordination and training skills require. Work experience in development sector is desirable

Have good command on MS-Office especially, Power Point and MS-Excel

Excellent communication (verbal/written) and strong managerial and leadership skills

Proven track record of team work. Strong administrative skills and ability to pay attention to details
