World Business Lenders (WBL) is seeking an entry-level Cloud Engineer to assist in deploying, operating, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure. Under the Infrastructure & Security Manager, you will gain hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, IaC, and DevOps practices while helping keep environments reliable and cost-efficient.

This fully remote role requires clear documentation, basic scripting, and the ability to work with a distributed team across time zones.

• Ability to document clearly and follow change procedures.

Responsabilités

• Provision and maintain cloud resources per approved configs.
• Support VMs, storage, networking, identity permissions, and services.
• Monitor availability, performance, and resource usage; troubleshoot.
• Maintain backups; assist with restore testing and DR.
• Apply patches; coordinate with Cybersecurity on vulnerabilities.
• Use scripts and templates to automate tasks; test changes.
• Track cloud spending; identify unused resources; suggest cost savings.
• Maintain infrastructure records and coordinate deployments with teams.

Overview

• World Business Lenders (WBL) is a privately held portfolio lender specializing in real estate-secured business loans for underserved businesses. WBL operates with a fully remote, multinational workforce and an experienced executive leadership team.
• Typically, the work schedule is from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, though additional hours may be required based on business needs.

About the Role

• The Cloud Engineer supports the deployment, operation, and maintenance of WBL cloud infrastructure. This entry-level role helps keep environments reliable, secure, and cost-effective under the direction of the Infrastructure & Security Manager. Microsoft Azure and DevOps / Infrastructure-as-Code experience are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Provision and maintain cloud resources using approved configurations and change procedures.
• Support virtual machines, storage, networking, identity permissions, and services that host WBL applications.
• Monitor availability, performance, and resource usage; troubleshoot issues and escalated service disruptions.
• Maintain backups and assist with restore testing and disaster recovery exercises.
• Apply approved patches and security settings; work with Cybersecurity to address vulnerabilities and access issues.
• Use scripts and infrastructure templates to automate repeatable tasks; document and test changes before deployment.
• Track cloud spending, identify unused or oversized resources, and recommend cost improvements.
• Maintain infrastructure records and operating procedures; coordinate deployments and support with development and Help Desk teams.

Required Qualifications

• Strong spoken and written English, including the ability to explain technical issues clearly and write accurate documentation.
• Foundational knowledge of cloud computing, networking, DNS, identity and access management, and Windows or Linux administration.
• Practical exposure to a cloud platform through coursework, labs, personal projects, internships, or employment; prior professional experience is not required.
• Basic scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or a similar language; ability to troubleshoot systematically and follow change procedures.
• Relevant education, technical training, or equivalent demonstrated skills; careful handling of confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on Microsoft Azure exposure, including virtual machines, containers, virtual networks, storage, Azure Monitor, and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Familiarity with Bicep or Terraform, Git, and automated deployment workflows.
• Azure certifications or related training; exposure to application hosting, containers, or cloud cost management.

Remote Work Requirements

• Available during U.S. Eastern business hours. Reliable internet connection, a dedicated workspace, and the ability to work independently and communicate consistently with a distributed team.

• Timely resolution and escalation of assigned issues; reliable deployments and successful restore tests; accurate documentation; completion of security and cost improvement tasks.
