Job summary

Reckoner Audit is seeking a Head of Carbon Markets and Sustainability to lead the carbon credit programme for a flagship project in Gilgit, with base in Islamabad. You will design, certify, verify and commercialize carbon assets, and manage MRV and stakeholder engagements across multiple standards.

The role requires 10+ years in sustainability consulting, strong leadership, and willingness to split time between Islamabad and Gilgit with regular travel.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in sustainability consulting with senior leadership experience.
• Experience in carbon credit projects from design to verification.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 14064, PAS 2080, Verra VCS or Gold Standard.
• Degree in Civil, Environmental or related Engineering field (Master's preferred).
• LEED AP, ENV SP, WELL AP or equivalent accreditation.
• Hands-on with OneClick LCA, Power BI and BIM360.
• A track record of leading large programmes and delivering certifications.
• A confident communicator who can present to government, investors and clients.
• Ready to work between Islamabad and Gilgit and travel regularly.

Responsibilities

• Lead carbon credit strategy: design and roadmap from baseline to issuance.
• Manage projects under Verra VCS, Gold Standard and similar standards.
• Build MRV systems and ensure third-party audit readiness.
• Oversee carbon accounting: life cycle assessments and baselines.
• Advise on green finance, pricing, and offtake discussions.
• Lead climate risk assessments and nature-based solutions.
• Oversee certifications (LEED, WELL, Envision) across assets.
• Ensure ESIA/EIA, environmental plans, permits and site compliance.
• Set up real-time dashboards for carbon, energy, water, and credit metrics.
• Engage government, utilities, communities and clients; lead bids.
• Coach and mentor technical teams as the program grows.
