Bykea in Karachi is seeking a BI Analyst II to drive data-driven decisions across pricing, supply/demand balancing and subsidies. You’ll own core metrics, build dashboards and run experiments to influence marketplace strategy and product choices.
The role emphasizes storytelling through data and working without prompts, with a fast-moving environment impacting live marketplace decisions and profitability.
We're expanding our marketplace and analytics team at the largest local startup in Pakistan, solving complex marketplace problems at scale- real supply, demand, pricing, and subsidy decisions that move the business, not backward-looking reporting. You'll work across marketplace health, pricing initiatives, product funnel feedback and customer lifetime value, developing a deep understanding of our customers, partner-drivers and vendors to drive decisions.
This is a storytelling-through-data role, not a request-a-report one. You ask your own questions, dig into data without being prompted, find opportunities that aren't immediately obvious, and turn them into insight other people can actually act on.
If your instinct on a messy dataset is "let me dig into this and figure out what's really going on," this role is for you. If it's "let me wait for someone to tell me what to pull," it isn't.
The environment is fast-moving and touches live marketplace decisions, pricing, subsidies, supply/demand balancing with real business impact. Judgement and curiosity matter as much as SQL skill.
Own business-critical metrics. Define, instrument and maintain new and existing metrics using SQL queries and beyond.
Drive marketplace decisions. Support pricing, supply/demand balancing, customer subsidies, and strategic marketplace shifts with data.
Understand our stakeholders. Develop an understanding of customers, partner-drivers and vendors to drive engagement, product recommendations and business decisions.
Build for decision-making. Run experiments and develop dashboards and data visualizations that enable cross-functional, data-driven decisions.
Answer the hard questions. Tackle complex business questions via ad-hoc SQL queries and visualization to advocate for better marketplace management.
Connect the dots. Integrate insights from different data sources to build a holistic market and consumer understanding that's actionable for category and brand strategy.
Partner with data engineering. Collaborate on building and maintaining ETLs, pipelines and automations so business performance can be understood and acted on accurately, scalably, and with minimal manual upkeep.
Expect a real, data-grounded exercise , closer to what the job actually is than what a CV shows. We care more about how you question and dig into data than about polish.
