Job summary

Vision71 Technologies seeks a dependable backend engineer to design, build, test and deliver software. backend development is the focus with React/Next.js contributions as needed. Collaborate with the technical lead and a small team across client and internal projects.

You will design data models, implement secure APIs, reproduce and fix issues, write tests, and participate in code reviews. On-site in Karachi with a pragmatic, ownership-driven mindset.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years hands-on development experience preferred.
• Experience delivering or maintaining an application used by real users.
• Working knowledge of database design, queries, indexes and migrations.
• Familiarity with React or Next.js, Git, API testing and automated testing.
• Maintainability, security and technical trade-offs are considered in decisions.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Vision71 Technologies builds practical software for business needs. We need a dependable engineer who can build, debug, test, document and deliver software. Backend development is the priority, with React/Next.js contributions when needed. You will work with our technical lead and a small team on client and internal projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design data models and efficient queries using SQL and/or MongoDB according to project needs.
• Implement authentication, authorization, validation, error handling and secure handling of credentials and business data.
• Reproduce bugs, investigate logs, fix root causes and add appropriate automated tests.
• Improve existing code, use Git branches and pull requests, and participate in code reviews.
• Contribute to React/Next.js interfaces and connect them to backend services.
• Support staging, approved deployments and production troubleshooting, with rollback planning and clear handovers.
• Break requirements into tasks, estimate realistically and raise blockers and delivery risks early.
• Maintain API documentation, setup instructions, task updates and handover notes.
• Evaluate new tools through focused prototypes when there is a clear project need.

REQUIREMENTS

• Around 2–4 years of hands-on development experience preferred; strong candidates outside this range are welcome.
• Experience delivering or maintaining an application used by real users; ability to explain your personal contribution.
• Working knowledge of database design, queries, indexes and migrations appropriate to your stack.
• Familiarity with React or Next.js, Git, API testing and automated testing.
• Sound judgement about maintainability, security and technical trade-offs.
• Clear communication and ability to work full-time on-site in Karachi.
