Job summary

Techelix in Karachi is seeking a backend developer experienced in the full software development life cycle, capable of designing, coding, testing, and maintaining scalable applications. You will work with several languages and AI coding tools to ensure high-quality code.

Responsibilities include building RESTful APIs, integrating with MS SQL Server and MySQL databases, reviewing AI-generated code for security and performance, and collaborating in an agile team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 2+ years of professional experience in backend development
• Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar)
• Strong experience designing and building RESTful APIs
• Experience with relational databases like MS SQL Server and MySQL
• Strong fundamentals to judge AI output critically; you must understand the code you ship, not just accept it
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and working in agile teams

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure and scalable RESTful APIs
• Use AI coding tools such as Claude Code daily to write, refactor, debug, and document backend code faster
• Review and validate all AI-generated code for correctness, security, and performance before it ships
• Build and support server-side applications and web-based services
• Work with relational databases such as MS SQL Server and MySQL for data storage and management, including using AI tools to write and optimize queries and schema changes
• Use AI assistance to speed up testing, such as generating unit and integration tests, while owning the quality of the results
• Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, from planning to deployment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile development environment
• Ensure best practices in coding, testing, and application performance
• Help the team improve AI-assisted workflows by sharing effective prompts, practices, and lessons learned
• Contribute to continuous improvement in code quality and system architecture
