Job summary

Mobiz is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to design and manage enterprise-scale Azure environments in Karachi, Pakistan. You will implement infrastructure as code, automate deployments, and collaborate across teams to deliver robust cloud solutions.

The role requires hands-on expertise with Azure networking, security, and multi-region deployments, along with strong scripting and DevOps capabilities. On-site work in Karachi with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 3–5 years hands-on Microsoft Azure experience.
• Strong networking concepts: VNets, NSGs, Firewalls, Gateways.
• IaC skills with Terraform/ARM/Bicep; CI/CD tooling experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Azure infrastructure end-to-end.
• Develop hub-and-spoke networks and landing zones per CAF.
• Automate with IaC and pipelines; maintain docs and standards.
• Enforce security using Azure Policy, RBAC, and PIM.
• Plan backup, DR, monitoring, and cost optimization.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to join our growing infrastructure team. You will be responsible for architecting and managing enterprise-scale Azure environments, implementing infrastructure as code, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust cloud solutions. This role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cloud Infrastructure Management

• Design, implement, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure including virtual networks, compute resources, storage solutions, and security services
• Develop and maintain hub-and-spoke network topologies with proper segmentation and connectivity
• Implement and manage Azure landing zones following Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework best practices
• Configure and maintain Azure ExpressRoute, VPN gateways, and hybrid connectivity solutions

2. Automation & DevOps

• Develop infrastructure as code using Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
• Automate routine operational tasks and implement self-service capabilities
• Create and maintain documentation for infrastructure standards and procedures

3. Security & Compliance

• Implement Azure security best practices including Azure Policy, RBAC, and Privileged Identity Management
• Configure and maintain Azure Security Center, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and Azure Sentinel
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability management

4. Backup & Disaster Recovery

• Design and implement backup strategies using Azure Backup and Recovery Services Vaults
• Configure Azure Site Recovery for disaster recovery scenarios
• Develop and test business continuity plans
• Maintain RPO/RTO targets for critical workloads

5. Monitoring & Optimization

• Implement monitoring solutions using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights
• Optimize cloud resources for cost efficiency and performance
• Conduct capacity planning and resource forecasting
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues across Azure services

6. Collaboration & Support

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
• Participate in on-call rotation for production support
• Collaborate on cloud migration projects and application modernization initiatives

Candidate Profile: Requirements & Preferred Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform
• Strong understanding of Azure networking concepts (VNets, NSGs, Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, Load Balancers)
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep)
• Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, or similar CI/CD platforms
• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or Bash
• Understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS)
• Knowledge of Azure Active Directory, identity management, and security best practices
• Enterprise-scale Azure deployments with multi-region architectures
• Azure migration projects from on-premises or other cloud platforms
• Integration experience with enterprise systems (ServiceNow, monitoring tools, ITSM platforms)
• Knowledge of Azure governance frameworks and cost management
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
