Job summary

Suburban Cook County Online Application Consortium is seeking an Attendance Specialist to implement a comprehensive, data-driven attendance intervention program designed to improve student attendance, reduce chronic absenteeism, and promote equitable access to education.

The role identifies at-risk students, monitors attendance patterns, communicates with families, conducts home visits, and coordinates with administrators, teachers, counselors, and community partners to deliver targeted Tier 2

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with school-age children, families, and/or student support services.
• Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to establish effective relationships with students, families, school personnel, and community agencies.
• Ability to maintain accurate and confidential student records.
• Ability to analyze and use student attendance and other relevant data to guide interventions.
• Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Implement a comprehensive, data-driven attendance intervention program to improve student attendance and reduce absenteeism.
• Identify students at risk for chronic absenteeism and coordinate MTSS interventions.
• Communicate with students and families; conduct home visits; develop individualized attendance plans.
• Coordinate referrals to counseling, social work, transportation, and community services.
• Maintain accurate documentation and prepare progress reports for grant monitoring and evaluation.
