Job summary

PwC in Pakistan is seeking an Associate for Assurance who will focus on independent assessments of financial statements, internal controls, and related information to enhance credibility for stakeholders. The role supports IA and assurance activities including governance, risk management, and control processes.

The candidate will perform routine bookkeeping, GL work, and month-end close while collaborating with teams to resolve queries and produce basic financial analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Finance or a related discipline.
• Basic knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting principles, and GL accounting.
• Good analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications.
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records.
• Support general ledger accounting, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Review and reconcile balance sheet and GL accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, as required.
• Maintain supporting documentation and accounting schedules.
• Assist in preparing basic financial reports and analyses.
• Follow established accounting processes, controls, and documentation requirements.
• Coordinate with relevant teams to resolve accounting queries and outstanding items.

Those in internal audit at PwC help build, optimise and deliver end-to-end internal audit services to clients in all industries. This includes IA function setup and transformation, co-sourcing, outsourcing and managed services, using AI and other risk technology and delivery models. IA capabilities are combined with other industry and technical expertise, in areas like cyber, forensics and compliance, to address the full spectrum of risks. This helps organisations to harness the power of IA to help the organisation protect value and navigate disruption, and obtain confidence to take risks to power growth.
