Job summary

SMEC seeks an Assistant Resident Engineer - Structure for a Roads and Highways project based in Kuchlak, Balochistan. The candidate will supervise structural works, review designs for bridges and culverts, and ensure adherence to specifications and timelines.

You will prepare progress reports, coordinate with authorities, and resolve on-site issues to maintain project quality and schedule. A senior civil engineering background is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; a Masters in Structural Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of overall professional experience, including 8 years supervising highways projects as ARE Structure.
• Sound knowledge of structural design standards and QC procedures.
• Additional trainings/certifications are an advantage.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise structural works on highway projects to ensure quality and timely execution.
• Review and approve structural designs for bridges, culverts and related works.
• Ensure construction complies with approved specs and drawings.
• Prepare and submit progress reports with proper documentation.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and local authorities for smooth project execution.
• Identify and resolve on-site structural issues to maintain timelines.
