Job summary

Pearmantra Innovations is seeking a skilled Environmental Specialist to lead improvement initiatives and coordinate with the Environmental Protection Agencies to ensure full compliance with environmental standards. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Environmental Sciences/Engineering and 2–4 years of relevant experience, with strong regulatory liaison and auditing capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental improvement initiatives and coordinate with EPAs to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Consult on housekeeping issues with HOD and follow up with responsible parties.
• Inform HOD and GM about stack emissions and fugitive dust status daily.
• Record and analyze emissions data against NEQs and PNEQs; prepare reports for regulatory bodies.
• Maintain annual data for ISO 14064-1 and support ESG disclosures for SECP requirements.
• Coordinate public hearings and liaise with EPA to secure approvals/NOCs.
• Ensure water conservation and monitor plant-wide environmental performance.

Job description

Lead environmental improvement initiatives and ensuring robust coordination with relevant Environmental Protection Agencies (EPAs) to uphold full compliance with Environmental Quality Standards.

Job Description

• Consult Housekeeping issues withHOD and follow ups with the concerned/responsible.
• Inform about Stack Emissions andFugitive Dust Status of previous day to HOD and respective GM in morningmeeting on daily basis.
• Obtain and analyze feedback fromall departments on Environments Aspects & its Impacts and providesustainable solution and mitigation measures.
• Conduct monthly housekeeping auditof plant and submission of report to SAM Environment central team.
• Conduct monthly housekeeping auditwith HOD and Director Excellence, GM Works and all HODs for improvement and toensure good housekeeping practices on site.
• Recordkeeping of annual datarequired for ISO 14064-1 certification and calculation of plant’s overallcarbon footprint.
• Assist the HOD for development ofreport and ESG disclosures to meet the SECP’s legal requirement.
• Liaison with respective EPA forfollow up and issuance of Environmental Approval/NOCs of the project.
• Follow up concerned EnvironmentalConsultant for the IEE/EIA/GEA and Environmental Audits.
• Fulfilling consultant’srequirements for environmental approvals and responding to any query fromEnvironmental Protection Department.
• Update Environmental Approvalstatus and report to HOD, GM and DW.
• Manage and record local publicconcerns/complaints in liaison with concerned department in supervision of topmanagement.
• Analyzing emissions results incomparison to National Environmental Quality standards (NEQs) and PunjabEnvironmental Quality Standards (PNEQs) to fulfill legal obligation PakistanNational Environmental Quality Standards.
• Timely intimation of the plantoperation status for conductance of the third party EnvironmentalAudit/Monitoring and reports review before onward submission.
• Observe water consumption limitsand adopt & implement water conservation strategies.
• Evaluate and Analyze MonthlyEnvironmental Reports of WHR, Mining and Production department beforesubmission to EPA-office.
• Plan, Design and Implement QuarryRehabilitation in coordination with Mining and Admin Departments.
• Organize and Coordinate PublicHearing before any Environmental Approval and respond to the queries concerningenvironment from all stockholders.
• Facilitate other BCL works inEnvironment related legal and technical issues i.e. Quarry rehabilitation,Mitigation measures, eliminating hindrances in achieving approvals andrectification of any other environment related issues at other works.
• Review departmental SOPs & JDson yearly basis to streamline the ISO 14001 EMS.

Experience and Qualification

• Bachelors/Masters in Environmental Sciences/Engineering
• 02 to 04 years of relevant experience in this field

• Traveling to EPA offices and business units,as and when required.
• Comply with HSE policy standards & EPA requirements.
