Job summary

Project Accountants Ltd – AssistantManager in Accounting will drive high-quality accounting and financial reporting for a diverse client base, mainly in financial services. You will prepare and review statutory and management reporting, supervise junior staff, and apply IFRS and UK GAAP with technical precision.

The role requires strong attention to detail, commercial judgment, and the ability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced professional services setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Qualified/ Pursuing accountant and member of a recognised professional accounting body (e.g. ACCA, CA or ICAEW).
• Strong technical accounting experience with IFRS and UK GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting, including cash flow forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis.
• Prepare and review annual and interim financial statements in accordance with IFRS, UK GAAP, and other relevant standards.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts in agreed client formats and within reporting timelines.
• Produce financial information for inclusion in board and committee reporting packs, as required.
• Review and QA work prepared by junior team members for accuracy and completeness.
• Apply and interpret a broad range of accounting standards and provide guidance where required.
• Draft technical accounting papers addressing treatments, judgments, and impacts of new or amended standards.

The AssistantManager – Accounting will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting and financial reporting services to a diverse portfolio of clients, primarily within the financial services sector. The role involves the preparation and review of statutory and management reporting, oversight of work performed by junior team members, and the application of strong technical accounting knowledge under IFRS and UK GAAP.

The successful candidate willdemonstratestrong attention to detail, sound commercial judgement, and the ability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced, professional services environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting, including cash flow forecasts, budgets,and variance analysis.
• Prepare and review annual and interim financial statementsin accordance withIFRS, UK GAAP, and other relevantgenerally acceptedaccounting standards.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts in agreed client formats and within established reporting timelines.
• Produce financial information for inclusion in board and committee reporting packs, asrequired.
• Perform review and quality assurance of work prepared by other members of the team, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to professional standards.
• Apply and interpret a broad range of accounting standards, providing technical input and guidance whererequired.
• Draft technical accounting papers addressing accounting treatments, judgements, and the impact of new or amended accounting standards.

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on general accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
• Experience supporting month-end and period-end close processes, including the preparation of recurring management accounts.
• Experience of working in the offshore financial services sector as a preference.
• Prior experience in a professional service, audit, or accounting advisory environment.
• Exposure to preparing technical accounting memoranda or advisory-style papers.
• Experience providing guidance, review, or informal supervision to junior team members.
• Prior experience inFinancialservices is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s orMaster’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Qualified/Pursing accountant and member of a recognised professional accounting body (e.g. ACCA,CAor ICAEW).
• Strong technical accounting experience, with demonstrableexpertisein IFRS and UK GAAP.
• Proven experience within the financial services sector.
• Advancedproficiencyin Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications.
• Experience reviewing work prepared by others and providing clear, constructive feedback.
• Excellent attention to detail, with a consistent focus on delivering high-quality outputs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to structure work logically and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and a high standard of ethical conduct.
