Your Role:
We are seeking an experienced AS400 Developer with expertise in RPG programming to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing, maintaining, and optimizing applications on the IBM iSeries (AS400) platform. This role requires a professional with a proven ability to collaborate across teams, deliver high-quality software solutions, and adapt to dynamic environments.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using RPG (IV, ILE, Free Format) on the AS400 platform.
- Write efficient, reusable, and scalable code to meet business requirements.
- Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain and upgrade existing systems, ensuring compatibility and efficiency.
- Integrate AS400 systems with other platforms and technologies.
- Perform unit, integration, and system testing to ensure software quality and reliability.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for applications and processes.
- Provide support to end-users, resolving technical issues and queries.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, QA, and project managers, to deliver solutions that align with organizational goals.
What you need:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in AS400 development and RPG programming.
- Proficiency in RPG IV, RPG ILE, and RPG Free Format.
- Knowledge of CL programming and DB2/400.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve application issues.
- Familiarity with business processes and ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience with modernization projects for legacy AS400 systems.
- Knowledge of web services integration with AS400.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Understanding of CI/CD tools and processes for AS400.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
