AS400 Developer with RPG Experience

Your Role:

We are seeking an experienced AS400 Developer with expertise in RPG programming to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing, maintaining, and optimizing applications on the IBM iSeries (AS400) platform. This role requires a professional with a proven ability to collaborate across teams, deliver high-quality software solutions, and adapt to dynamic environments.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and maintain applications using RPG (IV, ILE, Free Format) on the AS400 platform.
2. Write efficient, reusable, and scalable code to meet business requirements.
3. Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure optimal performance.
4. Maintain and upgrade existing systems, ensuring compatibility and efficiency.
5. Integrate AS400 systems with other platforms and technologies.
6. Perform unit, integration, and system testing to ensure software quality and reliability.
7. Create and maintain technical documentation for applications and processes.
8. Provide support to end-users, resolving technical issues and queries.
9. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, QA, and project managers, to deliver solutions that align with organizational goals.

What you need:

1. Minimum 5 years of experience in AS400 development and RPG programming.
2. Proficiency in RPG IV, RPG ILE, and RPG Free Format.
3. Knowledge of CL programming and DB2/400.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve application issues.
5. Familiarity with business processes and ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
8. Experience with modernization projects for legacy AS400 systems.
9. Knowledge of web services integration with AS400.
10. Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
11. Understanding of CI/CD tools and processes for AS400.
12. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
