Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail oriented Accounting & Financial Reporting Manager. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of U.S. accounting practices, financial reporting, taxation and compliance.
The candidate will be responsible for managing and reviewing accounting operations, preparing and analyzing financial statements, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and tax regulations and providing financial insights to support business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping and financial reporting activities on software such as QuickBooks, Sage etc.
- Prepare, review and analyze audit ready financial statements including Balance Sheets, Income Statements, Cash Flow Statements, Notes to the Financial Statements, Schedules, and Workpapers.
- Ensure financial records are accurate, complete and maintained in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Apply U.S. GAAP principles to accounting and financial reporting activities.
- Perform and review account reconciliations, journal entries and month-end/year-end closing activities.
- Prepare and review management reports.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
- Analyze financial data and identify trends, discrepancies, risks and opportunities.
- Prepare and/or review federal, state and local tax filings and related documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable U.S. federal, state and local tax regulations.
- Support audit processes by preparing necessary documentation, schedules and reconciliations during interim and final audit.
- Review accounting processes and recommend improvements to strengthen internal controls and financial accuracy.
- Analyze operations of the business and provide actionable recommendations to maximize profit and minimize expenses.
- Monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and other accounting functions as required.
- Assist management with financial analysis and provide recommendations based on accounting and financial data.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Stay proactive with changes in U.S. accounting standards, tax regulations and relevant financial reporting requirements.
- Perform other accounting and finance related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- CPA, ACCA, CA, ICMA or a related certification will be preferred.
- 3+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience; CPA-level experience preferred with US based company.
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, SAP, NetSuite, Sage or similar platforms.
- Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end close and audit support.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with internal teams and clients.
