Job summary

Pathfinder in Islamabad, Pakistan is seeking an Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate holds at least a B.Com degree and has two years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in a Chartered Accountant firm or tax-related roles.

You will manage books, documentation, VAT/tax compliance, and bank reconciliations using QuickBooks, ensuring accurate financial records and regulatory compliance. The role is onsite in Islamabad with an apply-by deadline of Oct 12, 2026.

Qualifications

• Minimum B.Com degree; candidates partly qualified in CA, ACCA or CMA will also be considered.
• At least two years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in CA firm or tax-related roles.
• Proficiency in accounting software (especially QuickBooks) and strong grasp of accounting principles and taxation.
• Good understanding of Pakistan’s taxation laws and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain Books of Accounts using QuickBooks.
• Documentation and Filing: prepare, scan, print, and file accounting vouchers and supporting documents.
• Maintain comprehensive accounting and tax records in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations to verify and reconcile bank transactions.

We are seeking a competent and motivated Accountant to join our team in Islamabad. The ideal candidate should hold at least a B.Com degree, although those partly qualified in CA, ACCA, or CMA will also be considered. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of relevant experience, preferably gained at a Chartered Accountant firm or in roles involving tax-related matters. A solid understanding of accounting procedures, taxation, and financial record-keeping is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of Books of Accounts: Manage and maintain accurate books of accounts using QuickBooks accounting software.
• Documentation and Filing: Prepare, scan, print, and properly file accounting vouchers and supporting documents to ensure organized record-keeping.
• Accounting and Tax Records: Maintain comprehensive accounting and tax records in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Bank Reconciliation: Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements to verify and reconcile bank transactions.
• Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit monthly sales tax returns and quarterly withholding tax statements. Handle the preparation of withholding tax PSIDs and ensure timely payment or deposit of applicable taxes.
• Additional Tasks: Perform any other accounting, taxation, or financial duties as assigned by management to support the organization’s financial operations.
