Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Work Control Center Clerk to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role provides administrative and clerical support for facilities maintenance and work control operations in line with Navy work management and customer service standards.

Amentum is seeking aWork Control Center Clerkto support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Work Control Center Clerk provides administrative and clerical support for facilities maintenance and work control operations in accordance with Navy work management and customer service standards.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for receiving, logging, tracking, and routing service requests and work orders through the Work Control Center.

Serve as a primary point of contact for customers submitting maintenance requests, ensuring accurate documentation of work requirements, priorities, and locations. Update work management systems, coordinate with supervisors and maintenance personnel, and monitoring work order status to support timely completion.

Maintain work control records, fil documentation, prepare reports, support scheduling activities, and assist with inspections or audits as required. Ensure accurate information flow and supports mission‑critical facilities operations in a remote, mission‑driven environment.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.
Required Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of experience in clerical, administrative, or customer service support, preferably in facilities or maintenance operations
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of office procedures, recordkeeping, and customer service practices
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and/or computerized work management systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Must be in possession of a valid Passport and be able to travel internationally.
  • Passport should be valid for a minimum of 1 plus years at the time of hiring.
  • Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).
  • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and comprehend English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
  • Valid country driver's license

  • Working Environment

    This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.

    Physical Requirements

    Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
