NAIS CORP in Metro Manila is seeking a seasoned energy markets analyst to join our analytics team in Pasig. You will collect market data, build automated pipelines in Python and SQL, and develop Power BI reports to support daily, weekly and monthly reporting.
The role requires 4–8 years in market analytics, strong English, and the ability to work across time zones with minimal supervision. On-site work at Ortigas or Muñoz will be required.
Collect, validate and prepare the daily and weekly market and portfolio datasets — prices, demand, generation, half-hourly load and hedge positions.
Produce the recurring reporting suite — exposure, position, margin and prudential reporting — to a set daily, weekly and monthly cadence.
Build and maintain Python and SQL pipelines and Power BI reporting, replacing manual handling with automated, tested processes
Monitor and report hedge position and portfolio exposure across electricity, gas and environmental certificates, and explain material movements.
Value and mark contracts to market — swaps, caps, power purchase agreements and certificate positions.
Prepare scenario and sensitivity analysis on request, with written commentary.
Own the settlement and invoice reconciliation cycle; investigate and clear exceptions, escalating with cause and financial effect.
Analyse invoiced revenue against wholesale cost and quantify the drivers of variance.
Prepare the Energy Markets inputs to month-end reporting
Support rate-card construction and offer modelling, and test the margin outcome of proposed pricing across tariffs and customer segments.
Maintain and quality-assure pricing and calculator models, including reconciliation to the applicable regulated benchmarks.
Maintain a current, tested runbook for every recurring process, together with model documentation and version control
Identify and deliver automation and process
A bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline — statistics, mathematics, applied mathematics, economics, electrical engineering, computer science or data science. BS Information Technology and BS Information Systems will be considered only where equivalent quantitative training can be demonstrated.
Four to eight years' experience in market or commercial analytics, trading operations, settlements, pricing, risk or financial analysis — in energy, utilities, financial markets, or a global capability centre serving international clients.
Python to production standard, including work with time-series data.
SQL — able to write and optimise non-trivial queries independently against a relational database.
Advanced Microsoft Excel, and Power BI or an equivalent business-intelligence platform.
Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail. The role produces figures that inform financial commitments.
Strong written English, and the self-direction to deliver with limited real‑time supervision across a time‑zone difference.
Comfortable in a specialist, non‑supervisory role — taking priorities from a colleague in another country, and raising concerns rather than proceeding on an assumption.
