Job summary

Mactan Rock Industries, Inc. is seeking a licensed Chemical Engineer to join its on-site team in the Philippines.

The role focuses on monitoring and optimizing chemical processes, ensuring compliance with standards in water treatment and related operations. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering, a valid RChE license, and hands-on experience in water treatment, RO, desalination, and related systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
Must be a Licensed Chemical Engineer (RChE), preferably with relevant professional experience.
Experience in chemical manufacturing, water treatment, wastewater treatment, desalination, or industrial chemical processes is preferred.
Knowledgeable in chemical processing, water chemistry, chemical handling, and laboratory procedures.
Familiar with RO (Reverse Osmosis), water clarification, filtration, and other water treatment processes is an advantage.
Knowledge of OSH, environmental regulations, and chemical safety.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic technical documentation.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Willing to work on-site and conduct field inspections or plant operations when required.

Responsibilities

Monitor and evaluate chemical processes and production activities to ensure compliance with standards.
Develop, improve, and optimize chemical processes to enhance product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Conduct analysis and evaluation of raw materials, chemicals, finished products, and process parameters.
Monitor chemical dosage, concentration, preparation, and application in water treatment and related operations.
Assist in the operation, troubleshooting, and optimization of water treatment, desalination, RO, clarification, and filtration systems.
Prepare and review process specifications, operating procedures, technical reports, and other engineering documents.
Ensure proper handling, storage, labeling, and disposal of chemicals per safety and environmental requirements.
Investigate process deviations, quality issues, and operational problems and recommend corrective actions.
Conduct technical assessments and recommend improvements to equipment, processes, and chemical applications.
Coordinate with Production, Laboratory, Maintenance, Quality, Safety, and other departments for smooth operations.
Assist in developing and implementing quality control and process control procedures.
Monitor compliance with company policies, ISO requirements, safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Conduct inspections, testing, and validation of chemical processes and equipment as necessary.
Provide technical support and guidance to operators regarding chemical processes and safe handling.
Maintain accurate records of chemical consumption, process parameters, test results, and production data.
Participate in research and development activities for new products, formulations, and process improvements.
Assist in training and orientation on chemical handling, process operations, and safety procedures.
Perform other related engineering duties as assigned.
