Job summary

Technical University of Cartagena (UPCT) invites applications for the role of installation and maintenance of water quality analysis sensors. The position supports development of spectrophotometry and fluorimetry equipment, licensed to ACCIONA, for real-time monitoring of reclaimed wastewater.

The candidate will work 35 hours per week (Mon–Fri, 8:00–15:00) in UPCT laboratories, with emphasis on assembly, calibration, and software control using Python and Arduino.

Qualifications

• Advanced Technical Diploma in Industrial Automation and Robotics or Advanced Technical Diploma in Telecommunications and Computer Systems.
• Experience with spectrophotometry and fluorimetry equipment is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Arduino and Raspberry Pi for embedded systems.
• Programming and optimization of software in Python and Arduino for equipment control.
• Willing to travel using a personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, commission, calibrate and maintain new spectrophotometry and fluorimetry equipment.
• Mechanically assemble according to drawings and configure embedded systems (Arduino, Raspberry Pi).
• Program and optimize software in Python and Arduino for equipment control.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and repair malfunctions.
