About the role

This role involves safely operating delivery vehicles to transport goods to customers, retail outlets, or satellite branches, following assigned delivery routes and schedules while ensuring on-time drop-offs and compliance with traffic laws.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate delivery vehicles (vans, light-duty trucks, or 6-wheeler trucks) to transport goods to customers, retail outlets, or satellite branches
• Follow assigned delivery routes, schedules, and traffic laws to ensure on-time drop-offs
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (checking oil levels, tire pressure, brakes, and fuel) and report maintenance needs
• Obtain customer signatures, collect payments for Cash-on-Delivery (COD) orders, and process delivery receipts or Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation
• Assist with loading and unloading cargo onto/off delivery vehicles using material handling equipment (pallet jacks, hand trucks, or forklifts)
• Verify that loaded items match picking lists, invoices, or dispatch orders for quantity and accuracy before departing
• Secure cargo properly using straps, ropes, or nets to prevent damage during transit
• Assist in general warehouse duties when not driving (stock receiving, order picking, staging, and keeping work areas clean)
• Provide professional customer service at the point of delivery
• Communicate with the dispatch coordinator or warehouse supervisor regarding transit delays, damaged goods, or address discrepancies
