Job summary

Orion Cepheid is seeking a responsible Delivery Driver to distribute products to company stores in Metro Manila and surrounding areas. You will collect delivery instructions, plan routes, and ensure on-time pickups from suppliers while maintaining vehicle cleanliness and safety.

The ideal candidate has a college level or vocational qualification, 2+ years of van driving experience, a valid license (codes 1,2,3), and strong knowledge of local roads.

Qualifications

• At least college level or a vocational course.
• With 2+ years of experience driving closed van vehicles like Canter.
• Must have valid truck driving license codes 1, 2, 3.
• Extensive knowledge of traffic signs and driving regulations.
• Ability to interpret delivery lists, cargo manifests and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Distribute products to company store branches in a timely manner.
• Pick up shipments from suppliers and couriers when needed.
• Unload deliveries and assist the delivery helper.
• Maintain assigned vehicle in good running condition and cleanliness.
• Plan routes to meet delivery schedules.

Job description

• Delivery Driver's role is to distribute products promptly to company store branches and pick up shipments from suppliers and couriers if needed. Responsible for unloading deliveries and assisting the delivery helper. To maintain and keep the assigned vehicle in good running condition and ensure its cleanliness.
• A. Reports to the Warehouse Manager
• Collects and verifies delivery instructions.
• Transports items to and from suppliers and couriers.
• Plan routes to take and meet delivery schedules.
• Maneuvers trucks into loading or unloading positions.
• Documents and logs of work/rest periods and kilometers spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.
• Communicate constantly with the supervisor or department head.
• Inspect vehicles and ensure that there are no issues/problems with regard to safety and perform periodic preventive maintenance.
• Complies with truck-driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
• Constantly notify the supervisor or department about the status of the vehicle.
• B. Coordinates with:
• Accounting Department – for fuel receipts and other delivery expenses.
• Operations Department – for the delivery permit if necessary.
• HR Department – for daily itinerary.
• At least college level or a graduate of a vocational course / 2year course
• With 2 or more years of experience as a driver using closed van vehicles like Canter.
• With valid truck driving license codes 1, 2, 3.
• Extensive knowledge of traffic signs and driving regulations and applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
• Must have good knowledge of major thoroughfares, routes, road works, etc.
• No recent moving or driving violations.
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, extreme weather conditions, etc)
• Must be able to interpret documents such as delivery lists, cargo manifests, handling instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to calculate mathematical values.
• Preferably with knowledge of warehousing procedures.
• The ability to give attention to detail is a must.
• Must be smart, friendly, can work with a team, and self-disciplined.
